I see a lot of tweets about cold emailing lately. But cold direct messages (DMs) are where it’s at. Why’s that? You’ve heard of the 7 touch points or the Rule of 7, right? Well, that’s why DMs work best, because the algorithms show your tweets or social media posts more if you’re in someone’s DMs and your profile does a bunch of the work for you by way of not only your content, but also by social proof. It’s also easier to be conversational in DMs and quicker responses are more common. Plus, you won’t get blocked by a spam filter or a bad subject line- why? Because there are none. Cold DMs can still take a lot of time though, and a quick reply time is vital with rate of deals closing being positively correlated to response time. I literally went through this journey myself & I didn’t want to give up my stellar response rate from cold DMs which was averaging 15-30% depending on the platform. But because I had such a high response rate it was becoming more and more difficult to keep up with sales, marketing, and customer success on top of development. That’s where the KeyLink came in. I thought of the solution to my problem over a year before building it because I was trying to stay laser focused but it became clear that I couldn’t reach my goals without assistance. And it quickly became clear that I was far from facing this problem alone as we hit #9 on an Apple App Store Top 10 charts within 3 days of launch and #7 within 3 weeks. People were obsessed - and I that’s their words, not mine. Founders were DMing me nonstop. Social media posts of praise were coming in unsolicited. I hit on a raw pain point. The solution was a far from a vitamin, it was a life saving painkiller. As Michael from HackGPT put it: “You’ve built the most loved app. All of the founders who use it rave about it. They just don’t like it- they are obsessed with it!” But of course you don’t have to take my word, or their word, for it. Given that there’s a free tier, you can try it yourself. What do you have to lose other than 23 times less wasted time on messaging? The KeyLink app is available to download on iOS and Android. Our business and desktop version is currently in beta, pending a spring launch. Check back often and/or follow us on social media to keep up to date with the latest product launches and features updates!
